PostHeaderIcon Yum Yum, diet update

As promised here, this is my bi-weekly update of how i am getting on with my diet.

To start with i haven’t had a good couple of weeks. Entirely my own fault really, i went out last weekend and drank sugary cider and ate burger and chips and then this weekend i had friends with children come to visit so i ate bread rolls and cheese and let myself have some crisps too.

What i didn’t do though, is let either of those bad days ruin the rest of the week or throw the rest of the week off. I have to say, much as i loved eating the food, it played havoc with my digestive system and in the end it really wasn’t worth all that.

However, i have still lost a little bit more weight so lets see where we’re at:

Starting Weight: 159lbs
Previous Current Weight: 151lbs
Current Weight: 147lbs
Goal Weight: 135lbs

PostHeaderIcon Bloggity Roundup…5

This week on our bloggity round we have a couple of things that are a bit different so we are going to start with those.

First of all Sian explains what makes a good blogger event and as a lady who is a professional at this lark it makes for very good reading. To find out about her day job why not also try here and here

Next on the ‘something slightly different’ list is Nic aka SleepyJane and her post about the release of GirlGuides. It’s essentially geek guides for girls in decent language that we can all understand. It is a SA company/site but that doesn’t make the reviews any less pertinent.

Another post from Erin is next. Today she is talking about the death of grammar and the English language. The fact that one of the commenters actually says that no-one cares enough to change makes me mad as a bag of snakes

Another post from Blonde now and this time a man’s guide to what us ladies like as a general rule on a date/first date. Boys, it’s all about your hands and the sexy stubble.

Finally in this roundup is the lovely Nilsa who is asking about creativity and if you are creative too? To me, creativity is about finding an outlet for those parts of yourself that you can’t express in any other way. For me it’s music – something that you have to do to soothe the soul.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s roundup

PostHeaderIcon What to do: HOG

Anyone who follows me on Twitter (go on and follow, i’ll wait here), will know that i have a giant crush on someone termed Hot Office Guy. So far i’ve managed to progress from looking from a distance to grinning and saying hello when i see him (which is quite a lot as his desk is really close to mine).

Today he caught me looking twice – but that must mean he was looking at me too

So how do i progress? Help me blogfriends, help me!

PostHeaderIcon Death by Debt

Recently i have been worrying a lot about how to get out of debt. Ashley has been documenting her journey out of credit card debt and i think she’s worked so hard and sacrificed so much that she’s given me inspiration to try and ‘pay down’ my debts to give myself a better and more fiscally responsible future.

That essentially means saying no to a lot of things in the near and mid future so that i can concentrate on getting myself as debt free as possible over the next year so that i can (hopefully) complete my southern move with options and the means to help myself out.

So each month i will be giving a post up to how i am doing, what i have left to do and what i am doing to try and get out of debt faster. Of course, we are in the middle of a recession but i am looking into getting a second job to try and throw more money at the debt (if i can find a part-time job that isn’t being an escort that is).

Current Debt:
Credit Cards: £5500
Student Loan: £5500
Overdraft: £1300
Total: £12300

It’s a lot of money to try and pay off as you can see, so the plan is to hit the credit cards first, then the overdraft and finally the student loan. I don’t think i will get anywhere near the student loan in the next 12 months being realistic but if i can pay the rest off then i know that i can do that in the 12 months afterwards and that would be fabulous.

Without adding interest in, i need an additional £560 a month to pay those off in a year. I am leaving out interest but also leaving out the current payments i make on the cards so it almost balances out. Time to go on a job hunt!
