Worrying and Nothing
I feel like I should be more entertaining…but then again there is nothing exciting happening in the world of me at the moment. When I first started blogging I was going to be witty and insightful and all of those things the cool chicks are. Then when all this happened I needed advice and a cyber-shoulder to cry on. It took me a lot of time and a lot of posting to get over that but I did and since then I have been fighting to get back to who I am.
I don’t just mean in blogging terms either. When you go through a traumatic event (and no I’m not suggesting it was more traumatic than many of the things you guys have been through), you lose a part of yourself in the never-ending cycle of trying to cope and getting over it. While I am 100% over the relationship I do feel like it’s changed my personality somewhat. Although I keep it to myself I worry about what other people are thinking about me more than I used to. I have enough rationale in my head to know when I am being paranoid and that’s why I don’t generally verbalise things but they swim around there and keep me up at night.
I wonder if one of the reasons that my diet has been so unsuccessful is that I won’t know what to do if I hit my target. How will I occupy my time then, when I don’t have to worry about what I’m eating all the time? So I sabotage myself by eating just that bit more than I should and tell myself that I will get it next week.
What’s really stupid is that I’m happier with my life than I have been in a long time. I have nothing to get me down so I invent things to do it instead.
Am I the only one, or is everyone like this?
So here I am once more
What a surprise I have put weight on. Only a pound to be fair but I just can’t seem to get myself in gear for this. I am hoping to start from tomorrow being motivated for a whole month and lose half a stone in October.
I think I need help though, i’m clearly rubbish at this sticking to a plan lark

Your Weekend/My Weekend/Our Weekend
How was my weekend Jenn asks?
Hectic, it’s the only way to describe it really. Friday saw me working as usual with a stop out for lunch with Mum who’d come to meet me. Back to work for me and an afternoon shopping for her and then we met again to take the bus home.
Once in and the new door* finally working properly we went out to the DIY store and bought 2x125litres of compost and 2xbags of gravel. I dropped her off at the chip shop on the way home and by the time she had come back with the dinner I had lugged the compost through the house to the back garden and deposited and laid the gravel in the front.
Dinner and a glass of wine and my bed was calling to me.
Saturday we had to clean the house…in order to do that I first had to assemble new Vax vacuum cleaner. Once accomplished, house was cleaned and gardening began. We planted up 5 pots with bulbs and conifers and violas (incidentally if you’re reading this; and you know who you are; I was right it is bigger) and pansies. Then once they had all been sighted and cleaned off it was time to sweep up and spray weed killer around before getting in the bath as Saturday night was party night.
It was more a family party than anything else but he seemed to be having a good time and that’s what counts. Did absolutely no good for my diet, what with the prosciutto and salami’s that were there, not to mention the huge cheese platter and cocktail sausages. I did avoid the weight-watchers mini Victoria sponge cakes of sweetened death though,
Home for just after 2300 and was so tired I just fell into bed…and was still awake at 0440
As you can imagine Sunday was taken up with being exceptionally tired but really doing shopping and chores, but we did get time to read the papers and have a sit down in front of the Grand Prix before roast dinner and then rubbish TV for the evening.
So that was my weekend, and I’ll pay it forward and ask…how was yours?
*I have new windows (double glazing at last) and a new back door as of last week. I was keeping it quiet because I surprised my Mum when she arrived on Thursday evening.
Del Toro ~ Vampire Books
Director Guillermo del Toro has announced plans to write a trilogy of vampire novels with crime author Chuck Hogan. The 43-year-old, best known for making Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy and The Devil’s Backbone, said the trilogy would advance in “unexpected ways”. The first book, The Strain, will be released next summer.
Earlier this month it was reported that del Toro had signed a four-picture deal with film studio Universal. Trade magazine Variety said the deal would tie him up for the next decade. There are plans to remake Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Frankenstein and Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five. Del Toro has also been lined up to direct two films based on The Hobbit and other works by JRR Tolkien.
However, the Mimic director has a very clear idea of how the books will read. “Each book contains unique and surprising revelations about the history, physiology and lore of the vampiric race, tracing its roots all the way back to its Old Testament origins.”
Hogan’s novels include The Blood Artists, The Killing Moon and Prince of Thieves, which is being adapted into a feature film, starring and directed by Ben Affleck.
