PostHeaderIcon Acceptable Swearing

I was reading an article on the BBC website about swearing and it’s merits in society.

Now don’t get me wrong, I swear sometimes but never at work, never in front of children or the elderly and never unless I’m really frustrated.

I’m really interested in your views, do you think swearing is/has becoming more acceptable in society or is it a product of a lazy mind?

PostHeaderIcon Richey Edwards ~ Officially dead

From the BBC:

Missing Manic Street Preachers guitarist and lyricist Richey Edwards has been declared as presumed dead, a spokeswoman for the band has said.

The musician from Blackwood, south Wales, disappeared nearly 14 years ago.

Despite alleged sightings all over the world many believe Edwards, whose car was found near the Severn Bridge, took his own life at the age of 27.

His parents Graham and Sherry Edwards have been granted a court order for him to be declared presumed dead.

Edwards’ father said he did not wish to comment on the matter.

The band’s publicist Terri Hall said the move was “hugely emotional” for remaining band members James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire and Sean Moore.

The band are unavailable for comment as they are currently abroad, she said.

Edwards, whose unused lyrics for the band are set to be used in new Manics material due for release next year, was last seen in London on 1 February 1995.

It is believed Edwards returned to his Cardiff flat, but then drove to the original Severn Bridge where his car was later found.

PostHeaderIcon To be, or not to be

This weekend the STB and I went on a little outing to Stratford-upon_Avon. For those of you reading who aren’t aware, it’s most famous for its Shakesperian connections most significantly the place of his birth and home of the Royal Shakespeare company.

I’d never been before so we decided to go for a day out there to see the sights and generally get away from the world for a few hours.

It was lovely; we got there a little after 11 so spent the first hour wandering through the town centre, looking at the buildings (and going in book shops, what a surprise). We had lunch in one of the many pubs and then went to see Shakespeares birthplace…which had a queue that neither of us were prepared to stand in (middle of winter, not so warm) so 40 minutes to get inside. So we went to another bookshop, and an old faashioned sweetie shop and then made our way back to the STB’s (via the supermarket).

Sunday found me getting hailed on while trying to put my shopping in the car and then not being able to clean the yard etc in order to be prepared for the week. If the weather stays like this today though I will be doing that when i get home tonight.

All in all a lovely weekend, relaxing and, as walys, too bloody short!
