PostHeaderIcon See you as a descant soul in the setting sun

March; it’s been a strange month this year. I’ve spent lots of days at home because of having to use leave as well as having had the work done on the house. Those will finish tomorrow when I am off to get the STB before our mini holiday to celebrate our birthdays in Wales*. Obviously having had the work done on the house means that I have been spending a lot of time moving furniture; which also finished yesterday when I had the old sofa, chairs, footstool, TV, stand and cross-trainer taken away. Now, all that is left is for the new sofa to be ready and delivered and I will be finished.

It seems like it’s taken forever to get it done, but in reality it’s only been 2 months. Yes it’s 2 months of living in a house where I can’t do everything I want to be able to because I don’t have the facilities makes it seem considerably longer, but 2 months nonetheless.

Hopefully the new sofa will be ready next week because much longer than that of sitting in a canvas garden chair to watch TV and I will start getting really annoyed. Then, I will get a carpet cleaner and once that’s done I will be letting all you lovely internet peeps into my lovely new home by the means of pictures.

I feel now like I have accomplished something big, I have got this work done and organised on my own, and I am happy to have been able to do it. I did have to borrow money from my brother (thanks Jesters) to get it all done, but originally I was only intending on getting a small percentage so being able to get so much more than I was hoping for finished has been amazing. I think I’ll be sliding into April a lot more organised than I was going into March.

Meanwhile in the online world there have also been March changes made. As anyone who follows me on Twitter knows I deleted both my Facebook accounts earlier in the month as well as memberships of a few internet fora as well.

Over last weekend I also merged my Musicality blog and my dieting blog back into this one and deleted their installations from my host platform. While doing that I updated my blogroll and my brit bloggers pages here too as well as my bookworms page so that everything is as up to date as it can be. I’ve noticed that a lot of the bloggers I first started reading 18 months ago have also been posting less and generally spending less time online so it’s not just me doing this I don’t think.

I am hoping that by having less to check and look at all the time it will enable me to have a bit more of a life and not worry so much about online things. I was discussing this with Ernmander via Twitter last week and we both felt like online life had overtaken real life a bit and wanted to scale back. I now think with my new focus and less to check I am going to be able to do that.

I’ve even scaled back the number of shows my PVR records for me a week. This means I will have more time to study as well as read and catch up with friends.

Which brings me to my next thing, friends. I don’t have many and I’m not particularly adept socially but I count a lot of my online ‘friends’ as real friends. Am I alone in this or do you guys think that online friends are as real as physical friends?

I am really looking forward to a possible meet-up next month with a couple of them and I hope that I am the same in person as I come across online. I like to think I am just the same, I certainly don’t hold anything back to my online friends so we shall see what happens.

Think-about Thursday will be along later (I know I missed last week didn’t I, it’s a symptom of not working every day I forgot it was Thursday) for your delectation. You’ll have to look out for a new format to it as well…I’m hoping to incorporate my Musicality post into it each week, providing I can get my brain in gear to do it every week.

For now I shall leave you with this:

‘Every time I close my eyes
It’s you and I know now
Who I am
Yea yea yea and I know now
There’s a place I go
When I’m alone
Do anything I want
Be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I’m fallin
That’s where I’m goin
Where are you goin
Hold it close won’t let this go
Dream catch me, yea
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won’t come back at all
You do so much
That you don’t know
It’s true
And I know now
Who I am
Yea yea yea
And I know now
There’s a place I go
When I’m alone
Do anything I want
Be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I’m fallin
That’s where I’m goin
Where are you goin
Hold it close won’t let this go
Dream catch me, yea
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won’t come back at all
See you as a mountain
A fountain of God
See you as a descant soul
in the setting sun
You as the sound
I’m young
There’s a place I go
When I’m alone
Do anything I want
Be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I’m fallin
There’s a place I go
When I’m alone
Do anything I want
Be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I’m fallin
That’s where I’m goin
Where are you goin
Hold it close won’t let this go
Dream catch me, yea
Dream catch me when I fall
Or else I won’t come back at all’

PostHeaderIcon Making out in…

…you know, I honestly can’t remember where my first kiss was. Is it meant to be a memorable event licking face?

It mustn't have been any good if I don't remember…

I’ve not only updated my Brit Bloggers Page, but also made a sweeping update to My Blogging Friends. Go check them both out and let me know if i’ve missed you out or spelled you wrong!

Oh and if you’re not already a member and you are a Brit Blogger…Come along and join us. We’re already up to 100 members, which I think is a great achievement considering how short a time we have been going.

PostHeaderIcon Guitar Hero Hand

This post would have been started 20 minutes ago but I’m now having to negotiate cat-on-lap-whilst-typing so it’s a bit later.

Anyway, I am currently suffering from Guitar Hero hand. Why, you ask? Well because I got Guitar Hero: Aerosmith from EBM (yes people you read that right EBM) for my birthday yesterday and I picked up World Tour while I was out shopping yesterday lunch time. For those of you new here or who don’t know who EBM is (and why he’s called EBM) I direct you here. Go on, I’ll wait.

All caught up? Good.

So as you can imagine I was slightly confused by this. He emailed me at work on Thursday to tell me that he’d got me a gift, but obviously I didn’t know what it was until yesterday. Am I still so mad that I won’t use it…hell to the no! It’s a great gift for me and I’ve been enjoying playing it already. Still, weird gift or what?

I also got a ton of new books (check my bookworms page for the list), some money; with which I bought underwear, city guides for Rome and Venice for my holiday in July, some perfume, a new pair of PJ’s, and probably some other things I’ve forgotten.

I had a great day, did some shopping, some playing, some relaxing, some reading and some drinking.

Ooh this is an easy prompt…my first BF in Secondary school dumped me by telling all our friends and then getting with someone else in front of me
