In the las 3 weeks there have been 2 stabbings and a beating within a 1 minute walk of my house. The police say they are not related, we’re not so sure.

It’s got to the stage that when i see the cordons instead of being outraged that something has happened i instead am angry that i will have to walk further to get home. As i said to the policeman last night ‘oh not again’.

Is this the nature of our society, that we care more about ourselves at all times than about the injury and problems of others? Or is it just that you live in a certain area, you have expectations of the neighbourhood?

While i was taking the long road home yesterday i met someone who lives on my street for the first time…and when i say lives on my street, i mean 6 doors away from me. She said she didn’t know me, even though i have lived at my address for 4.5 years. I am not surprised; my locale is a mecca for single parents with 147 kids, drug dealers and hoodies and i am none of those things, plus i have a job and own my house. A minority in my area for being no different from millions of other people and i keep to myself because i have nothing in common with any of them.

Do i care? Do i want to spend time getting to know my neighbours…not really. I just want a quiet life.

and right now; i just want to move

Yes you’ve guessed it, i had a ton of sleep last night and i am feeling all happy and well with the world.

Or at least i would be if i could settle on a blog design i liked. I loved the puzzle but i couldn’t ever change the text colour properly and it wouldn’t bullet point. So i went for Gods and monsters which was ok but not really right for the blog. Now i’m on dragonskin which is fine…but i don’t really love it.

I know i need to pay a designer to do me something perfect but i have £0 spare to eat for the next 8 months never mind enough to get a blog design. So night after night i trawl through free themes until i find one i like a bit and try it out.

So don’t bother clicking out of your readers to look because chances are it’ll change again tomorrow.

Incidentally if anyone knows of a free theme involving angels and/or wings that isn’t twee, let me know please, that’s what i’m looking for.

Also plan for this weekend include finally updating my blogroll to people i read…i’ll let you know when it’s done and if you’re not on it then holler at me so i can add you.

Sooooo, back to the happy times again, i went to bed last night at 2115, read a chapter of Wuthering Heights and was asleep by 2130. it was lovely, so lovely. i almost like that there is nothing on TV on a Thursday night.

and i have a 2 day week next week and it’s pay-day and i have to write a 4000 word essay and post it off and i have to buy and start reading new course books but i don’t care because IT’S FRIDAY FOLKS

That’s right people, i did it. 34 minutes and 4 seconds, a pulled muscle at 2.5k but i did it.

Here is the news:
work is still kicking my ass and i hate everything about it but i have a meeting this afternoon to vent my frustrations and hopefully get some kind of conclusion out of it

because of work i have had a headache for a week, a sore jaw from teeth clenching and grinding and am feeling mostly like death

my 5k run is this Sunday so if you haven’t sponsored me yet please go and do it now and help me hit my target

i got my course materials through for 20th Century Literature and i’m really excited about it. Unfortunately i have now had to put them away again so that i can write the final assignment for Words and Music. I was excited about that as i can pick my own pieces to study so i know i can get back into the right mindset to get it done and sorted in plenty of time to start the new course reading

I think i have twitter crushes on all my followers it’s so lovely having a smaller group now i’ve got my new account but if i missed you off then PLEASE come over and add me and say hi so i can add you back. And if i don’t follow you but i should, then do the same and i can crush on you too

the friend that i have talked about before who stopped contacting me is still not contacting me so i am happy to report that is now a non-friendship from my point of view.

Although i am utterly broke i desperately need a weekend away somewhere to relax and recharge. Am going to be sensible and wait until i have cash flow again though
